ایران پاکستان کو سستی بجلی فراہم کرنے کےلئے تیار

اسلام آباد (ہاجرہ زیدی) ایران کے سفیر ماشا اللہ شاکری نے کہا ہے کہ ایران پاکستان کو بجلی کے بحران سے نکالنے کیلئے سستی نرخوں پربجلی فراہم کرنے کو تیار ہیں۔ بیرونی طاقتیں پاکستان کو ایران سے دور رکھنا چاہتی ہیں، ہم پاکستان کو توانائی کے بحران سے نکالنے کے لئے بھرپور مدد کرنے کو تیار ہیں۔ اس بات کو ایرانی سفیر ماشاءاللہ شاکری نے انسٹی ٹیوٹ اوف پالیسی سٹڈیز کے زیراہتمام سیمینار سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا۔ انھوں نے کہا کہ ایران پہلے ہی دیگر پڑوسی ممالک کو توانائی فراہمی منصوبوں پر کام کر رہا ہے اور پاکستان کو بھی سستی بجلی فراہم کرنے کی خواہش رکھتا ہے۔

اسلام آباد (نیوز رپورٹر) عالمی منڈی میں پٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتیں بڑھنے کے باعث رواں مالی سال کے پہلے نو ماہ (جولائی تا مارچ ) کے دوران تیل کا درآمدی بل آٹھ ارب ڈالر سے تجاوز کرگیا ہے جو گزشتہ مالی سال کے اسی عرصے کی نسبت دس فیصد زیادہ ہے۔ وفاقی ادارہ شماریات کی جانب سے جاری تفصیلات کے مطابق رواں مالی سا ل کے پہلے نو ماہ کے دوران پٹرولیم مصنوعات کی درآمدات گزشتہ مالی سال کے اس عرصے کی نسبت صفر عشاریہ دو ایک فیصد اضافے کے ساتھ چار ارب ارسٹھ کروڑ اسی لاکھ ستاسٹھ ہزار ڈالر جبکہ خام تیل کی درآمدات اٹھائیس فیصد اضافے کے ساتھ تین ارب چالیس کروڑ چار لاکھ بیس ہزار ڈالر ریکارڈ

کی گئیں۔

موبائل فون کی درآمد میں پچھتر فیصد اضافہ

کراچی ( نیوز ڈیسک) پاکستان میں موبائل فون کی درآمد ہر سال بڑھتی جا رہی ہے، رواں سال بھی تین عشاریہ سات ارب روپے کے موبائل فون درآمد کئے۔ پاکستان تقریبا ہر سال ڈیڑھ ارب سے زائد کے موبائل فون درآمد کرتا ہے، اگر پاکستان خود موبائل فون سیٹس کو بنانا شروع کر دے تو نہ صرف قیمتی زر مبادلہ کو بچایا جا سکتا ہے بلکہ بیرون ممالک کو پاکستانی ہینڈ سیٹس کی فروخت بھی کی جا سکتی ہے۔

سرکاری اعدادو شمار کے مطابق رواں سال کے پہلے دس ماہ جولائی تا اپریل کے دوران موبائل فون کی درآمد میں گزشتہ سال کے مقابلے میں پچھترف

یصد اضافے کے ساتھ سینتیس ارب تیس کروڑ روپے کے موبائل فون درآمد کئے گئے۔ گزشتہ سال اسی عرصے میں ایک ارب بیاسی کروڑ روپے کے موبائل فون درآمد کئے گئے، مارچ 2011ءمیں آٹھ عشاریہ تین ارب روپے جبکہ اپریل 2011ءمیں آتھ عشاریہ چھ ارب روپے کے موبائل فون درآمد کئے گئے۔

چند سالوں سے ماحولیات اور اس سے متعلق مسائل دنیا میں ایک اہم موضوع بن گئے ہیں۔ ہر قومی لیڈر اور مشہور شخصیت سے یہ توقع کی جاتی ہے کہ وہ اس موضوع پر اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کرے اور ماحولیات کو جن خطرات کا سامنا ہے اس سے عوام کو آگاہ کرے۔ عوام توقع کرتے ہیں کہ یہ لوگ خلاءمیں اوزون کی تہہ کی بربادی جو کلورو فلورو کاربن گیسوں کی وجہ سے اس پر ہو رہی ہے، ماحول کی درجہ بدرجہ گرمی جو کہ گرین ہاوس سے خارج شدہ گرمی سے ظہور پذیر ہو رہی ہے، طویل مدت والے کیڑے مار دواوں کے فصلوں پر زہریلے اثرات اور بایوڈائیورسٹی یعنی مختلف اقسام کے زندہ اجسام کی تباہی، یہ سب مل کر اوزون کی تباہی کا باعث بن رہے ہیں۔ یہ مسائل خاصے پیچیدہ ہیں اور ان کے کئی پہلو بھی ہیں۔ ان مسائل کو ٹھیک طریقہ سے سمجھنے کے لئے ہمیں ایک سائنسی بنیاد پر تحقیقی معائنہ کرنے کی اشد ضرورت ہوتی ہے اور اس کے ساتھ ساتھ ماحول کو ایک وسیع پیمانہ پر بھی سمجھنے کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے۔

ہورٹیکلچر سے مراد پھولوں اورپودوں کی باغبانی ہے۔ پھول خوبصورتی کے لئے لگائے جاتے ہیں اور ان سے ماحول کی خوبصورتی اور تازگی میںبھی اضافہ ہوتا ہے۔ دنیا میں پھولوں، درختوں اور بیلوں کے ذریعے ایسے شاندار شاہکار بنائے گئے ہیں جو دیکھنے سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں۔ امریکہ اور افریقہ کے مختلف شہروں میں پھولوں اور درختوں کے ذریعے بادشاہوں، شاعروں اور تاریخی شخصیات کے مجسمے بنائے گئے ہیں جو انتہائی دلکش اور دیدہ زیب

ہیں، یقینا ان فن پاروں کو بنانے کے لئے بہت محنت کی گئی ہے۔

اس وقت نہ صرف پاکستان بلکہ پوری دنیا توانائی کے بحران میں مبتلا ہے اور ہر ملک اپنے ذرائع اور ضروریات کو دیکھتے ہوئے توانائی کے بحران سے نمٹنے کے کوششوں میں مصروف ِ عمل ہے اور پاکستان کے ارباب اختیار اور سائنسدان بھی اس بحران سے نبرد آزما ہونے کی کوششوں میں مصروف ِ عمل ہیں مگر افسوس کے ساتھ کہنا پڑتا ہے کہ ہم صرف ایک رُخ پر کام کررہے ہیں اور یہ دیکھنے کی کوشش نہیں کررہے کہ ہم اس توانائی کے بحران سے کیسے نمٹیں ہماری زیادہ تر کوشش یہ ہے کہ شمسی توانائی سے استفادہ کیسے کریں یا رینٹل پاور پلانٹ لے کر وقتی طور پر بحران پر قا بو پالیں اس سے قطع نظر کہ اس کے اثرات عام زندگی پر کیا پڑتے ہیں یا اس کے اخراجات کہاں تک جاتے ہیں ہم اپنے ملک کے ذرائع کو دیکھتے ہوئے کام کرنے کی طرف توجہ نہیں دے رہے اور یہی ہماری سب سے بڑی غلطی ہے ہم بجلی بھی پیدا کرنا چاہتے ہیں گیس کی لوڈ شیڈنگ بھی ختم کرنا چاہتے ہیں مگر اس کے لئے کوئی مربوط لائحہ عمل اختیار نہیں کررہے بلکہ مہنگے ترین ذرائع پر توجہ مرکوز کئے ہوئے ہیں ہمارا پانی عرصہ درازسے سمندر میں گر کر ضائع ہورہا ہے مگر ہم ڈیم نہ بنا سکے اور اب ہم دنیا کے مہنگے ترین سولر سسٹم کی طرف توجہ دے رہے ہیں جس کے لئے ہمیں مغرب کا ہی مرہون ِ منت ہونا پڑے گا مگر اس سے پھر بھی مسئلہ حل نہ ہوگا اس کے برعکس اگر ہم تھوڑی سی

توجہ دوسرے ذرائع کی طرف دیں تو یقینی طور پر اس کے مثبت نتائج برآمد ہونا شروع ہوجائیں گے۔

اس جہان آب گل کی ابتداءسے ہی انسان اپنے احساسات و خیالات کو مختلف شکلوں میں دوسروں تک پہنچا رہا ہے۔ ہردور میں انسانی ذہنوں نے مختلف قسم کے ذرائع ابلاغ ایجاد کئے ہیں۔ انٹرنیٹ ٹیکنولوجی کے وجود میں آنے کے بعد سے حالیہ دہائی میں انہی ذرائع ابلاغ میں ایک اور نئے ذریعے کا اضافہ ہوا جس کو بلوگ (عرفیت میں بلاگ) کہتے ہیں۔ بلوگ ایک طرح سے ویب سائٹ کا ہی حصہ ہوتا ہے جس پر کسی فرد کی جانب سے پابندی کے ساتھ خیالات، احساسات، واقعات وغیرہ کو متن کے ساتھ ساتھ سمعی صورتوں میں پیش کیا جاتا ہے۔ بلوگ کو آن لائن ڈائریاں بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔آج کل بلوگ نویسی انٹرنیٹ سے منسلک لوگوں کے لئے عام ہوتی جا رہی ہے۔ بلوگ نویس اپنے خیالات کو بلوگ کے ذریعے انٹرنیٹ صارفین کے سامنے پیش کر تا ہے اور پھر اس بلوگ کو پڑھنے والے اس پر رائے زنی کرتے اور مشوروں سے بھی نوازتے ہیں۔

بلوگ نویسی کی ایک بڑی خصوصیت یہ ہے کہ اس میں صرف متن ہی نہیں بلکہ آوڈیو، ویڈیو اور تصاویر بھی پیش کی جا سکتی ہیں۔ ایک بلوگ نویس جس طرح اپنے افکار کو متن کے ذریعے پیش کرتا ہے اسی طرح کسی واقعے کو تصاویر اور ویڈیو کے ذریعے بھی دکھا سکتا ہے۔ صرف یہی نہیں بلکہ اپنی ریکارڈ شدہ آواز میں اس پر اپنا تبصرہ بھی نیٹ صارفین کے گوش گزار کر سکتا ہے۔

“PTCL is in partnership with USF for projects in basic telephony access, broadband and optical fiber connectivity in underserved/un-served areas of the country and extending optical fiber connectivity to remote areas of Baluchistan to connect them with national optical fiber backbone network,” says a press release issued here last week.

Marking the International World Telecom Day, PTCL resolved to fully bind the great potential of the digital revolution in the service of life-saving relief operations, sustainable development and lasting peace in the rural areas and has taken the major initiatives to upgrade its network connecting the small tiny villages to the national network.

STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Environment has cleared the draft of its first national climate change policy (NCCP) that emphasises increased investments in research on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

According to details, Federal Environment Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki had approved the draft last month. However, advisor on climate affairs at Pakistan’s meteorological department and a key architect of the NCCP draft, Qamar uz Zaman Chaudhry, has said that final approval by the cabinet would take about a month.

STAFF REPORT FAISALABAD: Pakistan is lagging far behind the world in the field of biotechnology despite cultivating BT cotton on 2.4 million hectares with the introduction of 29 biotechnological enriched varieties.

“The world population is increasing rapidly and there is a dire need to cope with the food challenge, it is the need of the hour to promote biotechnology and bio-safety,” agricultural scientist Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik said at a seminar “Implementation of Bio-safety Protocols” held here last week.

STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has suggested measures to the government for generating Rs120 billion by imposing a fixed tax on cellular phone connections.

According to the FPCCI Budget Proposals 2011/12 document, the chamber has said that there are an estimated 100 million cellular phone connections in the country and the government can levy Rs100 per phone on monthly basis.

STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) — also known as energy saving light, has health hazards — and it should not be lighted over sleeping-bed, study lamp because it may cause skin problems, cancer and other diseases.

“The CFL carries health hazards and LED and LVD can be used to avoid its health hazards effects,” representative of National Institute of Electronics (NIE) Engineer Ahmad Nadeem Siddiqui said during a workshop on Institutional Collaboration for Indigenous Production in Renewable Energy Sector. The workshop was arranged by PEC.

STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has advised the mobile phone subscribers to visit Customer Service Centres (CSC) of concerned mobile operator to get their SIM data corrected if there is any discrepancy in their antecedents.

“PTA has sought subscribers’ cooperation in streamlining the SIMs data to achieve target of 100% corrected data,” said spokesman of the PTA in a statement.

He said that in this regard, the telecom authority has also directed cellular mobile operators to take all possible measures for the verifications of post and prepaid mobile connections of their subscribers within specified time period through “SIM information System 668”.

STAFF REPORT KARACHI: The Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) expects four projects of 50 MW each to achieve financial close by the end of 2011, AEDB Rural Electrification Programme Director Imran Ahmed said.

“These projects are Fauji Fertiliser and Zorlu with capacity of 50MW each and two projects of Fauji Foundation with the same capacity,” Ahmed said while speaking to industrialists at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry here.

STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: The nation expenses of mobile handsets have swelled substantially in the current fiscal year, showing a huge burden on the imports bill of the country reaching Rs 33.549 billion during July 2010 to March 2011.

“The mobile handsets sales have increased to Rs 33.549 billion in Jul 2010 – Mar 2011 as against Rs 18.061 billion in the corresponding period of previous fiscal year, showing a tremendous growth of 85 percent in the third quarter of current fiscal year,” reveal the fresh figures released by the Federal Board of Statistics.

STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: As many as 2,045 Pakistanis are currently pursuing their higher education in various foreign universities through the Higher Education Commission (HEC). During the last eight years, a total of 674 students returned to the country after completing PhDs.

“Most of the students seeking higher education in foreign universities are pursuing their studies in natural sciences including physics, biology, chemistry, engineering and medicine. Other fields include social sciences, business and public administration,” official of HEC told this scribe last week.

Intel boosts channel enrolment plan

STAFF REPORT KARACHI: The number of PhD scholars in Pakistan has considerably increased after the HEC formation, however, there is growing concern that the quality of the research may not have improved.

“There are few exceptions, the research in public sector universities is of relatively high standard. We are mostly doing research on under-utilised resources that can increase the quality of food products and their packaging,” commented former chairperson of the Department of Food Science & Technology, Dr Abid Hasnain.
