STAFF REPORTER ISLAMABAD: Pakistan needs a strategy to pool its resources and expertise available with public sector organizations to initiate local production of solar lighting and electricity generation system. This will help boosting the national efforts to overcome power shortage.
These remarks were expressed by Dr Abdul Kadir Khanzada, Chairman, National Assembly Standing Committee on Science and Technology, during a workshop on Institutional Collaboration for Indigenous Production in Renewable Energy Sector here last week.
He asked the renewable energy organizations to provide report of their capacity and resources to his ministry within one week. He suggested presenting such reports to the Energy Think Tank Committee of PEC to develop concrete recommendations, for indigenous production of solar products.
