Germany raises scholarships for Pakistanis


STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: As a positive step towards offering higher education facilities to Pakistani students, the German scholarships have been increased to 40 and efforts are being made for further increase up to 100.

With the opening up of office of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Islamabad last year, the cooperation between Pakistan and Germany in the field of education has been enhanced, says a press release received here from Berlin.
“At present 32 Pakistani students have been pursuing their Doctorate and Masters Degree courses at the Rostock University, Germany,” Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Shahid Kamal while addressing participants of “Pakistan Evening” at Rostock last week.
He said that the gathering that about 2100 Pakistani students are studying in different German Universities and out of these 350 are PhD Scholars.
