SOFTEC 2011: A riveting success!



DRIVEN BY a vision dedicated to the promotion of IT for generations to come, the SOFTEC Society marked the closing of another successful year with the execution of SOFTEC 2011 on May 7th. As is the case every year, SOFTEC 2011 left with the team unforgettable memories and an eagerness for SOFTEC 2012.
SOFTEC 2011 opened with an inaugural address by Dr. Samar Mubarik, who introduced his team and number of projects that have been keeping them busy lately. Proceeding into the day, the Programming Competition was jam-packed with participants that had flown in from all around the country. Above all, it was the sheer magnitude of innovative ideas shared that made the cause worth it. At the Kids Corner, the ‘Looney Tunes’ theme proved to be a great hit with all the participants as well as the visitors. The Career Expo was an addition to this year’s SOFTEC event that resulted in extensive recruitment by the end of the two-day event. As for the seminars, Google Pakistan, Wi-Tribe, P@SHA, CIO Pakistan and PC World were quite successful in organizing interesting and interactive sessions.
For those who believe in living large, SOFTEC 2011 ended the days with delightful and mouth-watering food, and gaming competitions. The entertainment eve was the show stealer with over 1200 people. It started with a riveting performance by FAST Music Society.
