STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: Executive Director of COMSATS Dr. Imtinan Elahi Qureshi has recently visited the Commission’s Centre of Excellence in Turkey ‘Marmara Research Centre (MRC)’ where he held a meeting with Vice President MRC, Dr. Mehmet Demirel. The meeting was participated by Directors of MRC’s various institutes.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest in S&T and research cooperation were discussed. Dr. Qureshi highlighted the role of COMSATS as an intergovernmental organization promoting the cause of science-led sustainable development.
He also asserted the need for greater participation of MRC and catalytic role in scientific collaboration in COMSATS member states, particularly the Thematic Research Groups established to foster South-South cooperation among developing countries.
