KBP protests power supply cut to tube-wells.....(Issue # 50)

STAFF REPORT LAHORE: The Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has urged the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) authorities to restore the power connections of agricultural tube-wells in various areas of the region saying the disconnection is badly damaging the agriculture activities.

A large number of tube-well in Tandlianwala, Rehmay Shah and Mamokanjan subdivisions were disconnected by the official of the Fesco last week over the controversy of subsidy on power, while the case is still pending before the Lahore High Court.

A large number of KBP members led by its President Sardar Zafar Hussein Khan, held a protest demonstration in front of the XEN Sumandari Division (Faisalabad).

They demanded for immediate restoration of electricity to the agricultural tube wells, and appealed to LHC Chief Justice to take action against this illegal act of Fesco officials.

They also warned that they would stage a sit-in outside Punjab Assembly if their electricity connections were not restored within two days.
