SMS service launched on Motorway...(Volume # 2, Issue # 1)

STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: As the government is committed to facilitating road users on national highways, the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) has started its Short Message Service (SMS) in order to create awareness about road safety in commuters and inform them about weather conditions.

“Senior officials in the Motorway police are in contact with the Excise and Taxation Department to collect data of registered vehicles while cellular service companies are also being consulted to get mobile numbers of vehicle owners,” IG Motorway Dr Wasim Kausar told the media while talking about the new SMS service. He said that the general citizens, who frequently travel on Motorway, should register their cell phone numbers at NHMP helpline No 130.
