1st Pakistani to become HL7 RIM Certified Specialist


STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Afzal is the first Pakistani to become HL7 RIM Certified Specialist. Health Level Seven International (HL7) is the global authority on standards for interoperability of health information technology with members in over 55 countries. The HL7's vision is to create the best and most widely used standards in healthcare.

He was the leader of Health Life Horizon Project at SEECS, says a press release issued here last week.

Afzal attained this honour by successfully passing the exam during his conference visit to Cambridge, USA, sponsored by NUST. The certification is based on the Reference Information Model (RIM) of HL7 V3; the community leading standard in the world.

Due to this achievement, he has opened the doors for other Pakistanis to follow his footsteps and become part of the vibrant HL7 international community. Afzal as Procter can conduct HL7 certification locally in Pakistan with coordination of HL7 International.
