STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: In order to overcome the energy crisis in the country, the PCSIR is working at Thar Coal project in close contact with Thar Coal Wing.
“PCSIR is also planning to produce gas from coal on a larger scale and work on the project will start within two weeks,” revealed Chairman PCSIR Dr Shaukat Pervez while talking to media here.
He said that the institute of fuel technology of PCSIR is already producing gas from coal on a small scale and “plan is to extend it on a larger scale.”
“The design has been finalised to produce diesel from gas and fuel centre of PCSIR is working day and night to expedite the process,” he maintained. He said that PCSIR and FC College (FCC) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which envisages mutual collaboration between the two institutions in human resource development and R&D.
