Telekom Malaysia, Multinet Pak to provide IPVPN

Volume 2, Issue 3
MONITORING REPORT KUALA LUMPUR: Communication providers Telekom Malaysia (TM) and Multinet Pakistan have signed a deal to deliver Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IPVPN) services to corporate customers in Malaysia and Pakistan.

“The services will be offered via multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) technology,” said Multinet Senior Executive Vice President Rashid Shafi.

According to him, both the companies would combine efforts to provide reliable IPVPN services. He said that the agreement would cater to the rapidly increasing demand from corporate customers in Pakistan and Malaysia, especially for multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity services and highly scalable network solutions that support the bandwidth-demanding applications.

He said corporate customers in Pakistan could seamlessly access the MPLS-enabled TM’s global network through Multinet’s existing access infrastructure, both domestically and internationally.

Multinet Pakistan is a data and voice communication provider with infrastructure spanning more than 107 cities across Pakistan. “Similarly, this will enable TM to fulfil the increasing needs of its corporate customers back in Malaysia by leveraging on Multinet’s extensive domestic access and capacity.
