PTA launches ‘online complaint system’


STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched “Online Complaint Management System” to help customers seek timely resolution of their complaints.

PTA’s Online Complaint Management System, inaugurated in collaboration with cellular companies, will enable telecom consumers to lodge their complaints regarding telecom services online and to have prompt response on them.

In his remarks on the occasion, Chairman PTA Dr. Mohammad Yaseen said that the initiative would prove to be a significant step towards the achievement of these objectives.

He said that the government is there to provide policy guidelines and directions and now we will deliver to the public in line with the policy guidelines.

The PTA Chairman said that the authority has encouraged development of local contents and created awareness on it. It has introduced Information Rabta Portal to facilitate internet users to get information on Pakistan.

He also said that the PTA organized Consumer Forums at different cities to seek views of consumers on telecom services. PTA also introduced new system to block unwanted calls/SMS.

On the occasion, Minister for IT Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali said that the central government is fully supporting the initiatives being taken by the PTA regarding strengthening the IT sector in the country. He also discussed with the Secretary IT and the PTA chairman the plan and scope of starting training programmes in the IT sector for educated youth of the country to enable them to get jobs in local and international markets.
