STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: Under the power sector reforms, agreed with the international donors to introduce reforms in this sector, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has approved reconstitution of the Board of Directors of all power sector distribution companies along with National Transmission Dispatch (NTDC) Company.
According to an official of the Water and Power Ministry, the government has advised all CEOs of Power Sector's Distribution Companies as well as NTDC to obtain consent from each nominated Director and fulfil all formalities under Companies Act, 1984 for convening the Board. He said that purpose of this initiative is to streamline as well as accelerate the performance of the power distribution companies in the country.
