STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: FIA Cyber Crime Circle (NR3C) Lahore has raided and seized 10 VoIP exchanges in Faisal Town and Model Town Extension areas.
According to a statement issued here, five Illegal gateway exchanges in running condition in Faisal Town and five Illegal gateway exchanges in running condition in Model Town Extension were recovered and seized.
These parties were incurring a huge loss of Rs 60 million per year to the government exchequer, according to initial investigations.
The raiding party also arrested several persons involved in this illegal business and seized the illegal gateway exchanges equipment that included 10 Quintum Gateway Exchanges, 20 CDMA Channel Boxes with 08 lines each (total 160 ports), 70 V-PTCL phones, 05 computer systems, 03 UPS system, 08 batteries and internet cables of different sizes, which worth about 25 million rupees according to initial investigations.
