ZTBL output to boost farming projected

STAFF REPORTER ISLAMABAD: The agriculture sector is prone to climatic change the worldover and Pakistan has to cope with food security challenges in the wake of this climatic change.

These views were expressed by ZTBL President Zaka Ashraf while during a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi here last wee.

On the occasion, Zaka briefed Qureshi on the bank’s operations for agriculture uplift specifically in the wake of devastating floods which caused huge damage to our agriculture sector. He said that ZTBL has been making strenuous efforts to rehabilitate our farmers but still our economy require credit lines from donors to facilitate our farmers.

According to him, the ZTBL has geared up its efforts to support the government’s initiatives in this direction.

The Foreign Minister, while assuring the bank’s chief for all possible support and cooperation, said that the international community has truly emerged as saviour and helped in all possible ways to undo the worst effects of the said natural disaster.
