MUET among world’s top 400 varsities


STAFF REPORT HYDERABAD: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) has been declared one of the top 400 universities of the world in a survey conducted by an international organiztion, Quacquarelli Symonds.

“The MUET has secured 351st position in the list of best universities around the world,” reveals the survey. In the category of engineering and technology, the top four universities are Massachusetts Institute, of Technology, USA, (first), Stanford University, USA, (second) University of California, Berkeley, USA (third) and University of Cambridge, UK, (fourth).

According to the standards set by the Higher Education Commission, the MUET has already been declared second best public sector university in Pakistan, said a university press release. “The MUET had a challenge set by the HEC to be declared one of the 500 top universities in the world but have secured a place among top 400 universities,” it said.

The country’s three universities have been included in the list of top universities of the world. The UET Lahore has secured 281st position and the NUST got the 274th position.
