Academician to set up libraries for Pak kids

MONITORING DESK FLOYD COUNTY: A local woman will soon travel halfway around the world to set up libraries for children, and she’s looking for help from the community.

Ann Riddle Riedling, Professor of Library Science at San José University and a Floyd Central High School graduate, will soon be setting up six libraries in impoverished areas of Pakistan.

“I have a plan to bring the children’s education into the 21st century and provide them with modern learning tools,” she told media while explaining his plan. “I’ve lived all over the ME, and the people of Pakistan touched my heart,” Riedling said. “There are children in poverty there they just sit on the ground in school, but they still want to learn.” She will arrive in Pakistan next month and will work with both students and teachers to set up the libraries in the flood-hit areas.
