ZTBL sets up ATCs to guide farmers



STAFF REPORT FAISALABAD: In order to persuade and provide guidance to the farming community about use of modern technology for getting better crop yield, the Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has established Agriculture Technology Centers (ATCs) throughout the country.

“The ZTBL has signed an agreement with Nestle Pakistan Limited to bring white revolution in Pakistan. In this connection, a number of projects have been launched to improve livestock sector on scientific lines to cater domestic food needs by increasing production of meat and milk in the country,” Chaudhary Zaka Ashraf, President ZTBL, told the media here last week.

He said that the ZTBL is providing loans of billions of rupees through the one-window operation and other programmes so that Pakistan could be transformed into a self-sufficient country in fulfilling domestic food needs.

“The bank had also launched a programme to issue soft loans to check black marketing of fertilizer,” he said adding that all available resources were being utilized to fulfill all need of farmers.
To a question, he said that for the promotion of culture of solar technology in the country the ZTBL has also signed agreements with foreign companies.
