Mega corruption detected in PCSIR


STAFF REPORT RAWALPINDI: Mega corruption and irregularities of millions of rupees have been unearthed during the audit of a project of the PCSIR, which is the attached department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, sources have disclosed to this scribe here.

They said that PCSIR during the previous government had decided to set up Cast Metal and Foundry Technology Centre project in Daska. The purpose of this over Rs300 million project was to provide skilled training to unemployed educated youth. The sources said that under the PC-1, Rs 5 million had been allocated to run the affairs of this project. But the officials of the project allegedly committed irregularities and corruption of over Rs19 million by crossing all limits. Besides this, the work of electricity was carried out with over Rs10.5 million through a firm.
