Pak IT firms grabbing world market share



STAFF REPORT ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is penetrating into the international market by dint of its local IT companies’ high-quality services and competitive products and the selection of the country’s industry for designing the Official Game of the ICC World Cup is a living proof to the immense talent and potential of the Pakistani firms.

“Pakistani IT industry is grabbing its share in the international market and PSEB through its programmes is successfully catering to the needs of human capital, office space, marketing, company capability development, telecoms bandwidth, industry finance, public policy, strategy & research, and facilitation,” Pakistan Software Export Board Managing Director Zia Imran told the media here last week,

He termed the selection of the Pakistani IT firm ‘Mindstorm’ for the ‘Official Game’ of the ICC World Cup as a unique honour for the country.

“This is a huge honour for the country besides being a pointer towards the strength of the IT industry in Pakistan,” he maintained.

Babar Ahmed, CEO of Mindstorm, said that the selection of his company for designing the ‘Official Game’ is a moment of pride his company and the country as well.

“The selection has proved yet again that the Pakistani IT sector is vibrant, dynamic and able to conquer all hurdles to emerge as champions in cutting edge areas of technology,” Jehan Ara, President of the Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA), remarked on the development.
